Few words before we say goodbye:

To me Photography is to invent stories, to tell with images things that no one else is seeing.

Is the challenge - and pleasure– to search in the unusual, to find it around us, hidden in plain sight.

This search began even in the years 70/80, when I was introduced to the universe of a photo lab by then just black and white.

I am self-taught in photography, and from the beginning I knew that I would make art with photography, having taken two parallel paths: one as a reporter, which often puts me in the process of Brazilian history, and one as an artist, depending on the perception I had of things around me, that made me want to register this "graphic view of the world", turning it into my art, my language.

Later I would introduced the work "Photographism," many years before appearing Digital Photography.

Not want to explain my art, it is there to be seen and (well) appreciated. It has no quirks, does not hide from anyone, nor will let you hide (in my portraits).

It is art in a basic sense, to bring fun, entertain, and interact with the environment, without being more or less than it. Capturing the beauty within and around us.

It may hurt for its simplicity, in the absence of malice, for its explicit and strength, for its clarity. It can intrigue by its simplicity and because it is obvious- after one see it.

For that I photograph - to accomplish this "extraction" in time and space, frozen in an endless sequence of a busy life, unique, artistic.
